Simple thoughts about our spiritual life

Our walk in life with Yahuwah (God) can get really complicated. We can get engrossed in all our technical problems; what to believe, who to hang out with, which habit to crush next. And I guess we should. Changing into His image is big.

But we ought not to forget the simpleness of it all either. We are, left to ourselves, lost humans in a deteriorating world. BUT we are also children of a loving Father who will save us if we will only be willing.

There are many parts to our salvation. But although the nuts and bolts are important, and although it is great to explore them, we should step back once and again to just think; “My Saviour Yahusha died for me because of His love. On my own I’m lost, but He and Yahuwah are willing and able to save even I. As a lost child I can run to His side, and as a loving parent He’ll rescue me.”

HalleluYah; It’s all about love. His love, our love. (We keep His commands to show our love back). And thankfully, Yahuwah’s love is big enough to save us all. If we accept.

Shalom,

Yah’s girl

Yah is into miracles

hope

I’m subscribed to an email list that sends out a different thought/writing every Shabbat/Sabbath & wanted to share this one with y’all. The Author’s website is http://www.keepit7.wordpress.com

Yahuwah gives miracles. He performs them for our joy and benefit! And he does this every day. Sometimes in our great rush and fury, we miss it. We overlook a “small” miracle. This is tragic. Often when we need Yah most, we shove Him aside- “Not now, God, can’t talk. I have problems. I don’t have time!” (What?!?!?!?!?)

I know I do it.

He is here to solve our problems, or bring us through them, but He has given us freedom of choice, which means we have to accept His help. Elohim watches over His own. All we have to do is trust Him!

Remember, Shalom is not the superficial peace the world promotes, but a deep inner peace and harmony “in the battle”.

“He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many against me.”
Psalm 55:18
My point is this: Yah will work in our lives, whatever is going on in them, good or bad. He has done many miracles in my own life, Including a huge one this week. Actually every day is a miracle, since he gives us life; we could not breathe without Him.

So praise Him! Praise the name of Yah! He will glory, He will conquer the evil one! His Truth will never be undefended, and His people will never be alone.

HalleluYah!

Shalom!

Yah loves you & so do I!

Atonement for everyone

Atonement for everyone

All have sinned and come short of the glory of Yahuwah. But all can be atoned for, because He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

By grace we are saved. Not through our own power, but His. We are not saved throgh works, lest any man would boast. Yet, faith without works is dead. By their fruits you will know them. We can be a new creature, and can be set free in His truth.

We ought to come before Yah every day, to search for what seperates us. We should also strive daily to be on good terms with our fellow men, as our Saviour did. Luke 2:52  And [Yahusha] increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with [Yah] and man.

Some Bible believers also keep the day of atonement. Even if you don’t believe in keeping the Feasts, we can all learn from them!

Tomorrow, I’m going to observe this Day of Atonement. Unlike a normal day, it is from sundown to sundown, spanning two calendar dates, the 9th and 10th of the Scriptural 7th month.

Before I move on to what we can all learn from this day, let me give you two links to posts I wrote awhile back that give some of my reasons for keeping the Feasts. There is much more information – pro and con – out there. Is it o.k. to feast with the Father? (Updated) & On the Fringe of the Law

Let’s dive in!

Yom ha’ Kippurim – The day of Atoenment

1:) Notes on the day: (What it’s about, what I do)

Although it’s classified as a Feast, it’s generally accepted that, due to the somber importance of the day, you don’t eat or drink anything during the whole 24 +/- hour period. (Why? See Leviticus 16:29, 23:27+32, and Numbers 29:7) Your hunger and thirst reminds you of the day’s mission.

Because of the day’s job and dire possibilities (Leviticus 23:29,30), the preceding ten days of the month are labeled “The days of awe”. In fact, the first of the month (Right before the beginning of The Days of Awe) is the Feast of Trumpets – a day of blowing, warning everyone Atonement is coming. (On the Feast of Trumpets: Leviticus 23:23-25)

The Day of Atonement is a foreshadow of the final judgement day. All will be atoned for, or face the punishment of their un-repented of and thus un-cleansed sins. Our Saviour Yahusha will come to take His children home. Those who refused His love will die. (Free will) 1 Peter 4:5, Revelation 6:10 + 19:11

In more modern terms, it’s a little like the night before january first – when many people make “New Year Resolutions”. You think back over the last year and make goals of being a better person. (Note we have Yah’s help so we CAN change in the coming year).

Some of my goals are “Be a better listener”, “Help out so-and-so more”, “Pray more”, and even “Spend more time with my dog”.

On this day, I contemplate my relationships. With Yahuwah, and other people, and think of what problems and inconsistencies I have. It is a day for prayer. Contemplation. And maybe writing some letters or ringing a friend (or non-friend) to apologize.

lamb

2:) Notes on the idea of the day:

Summing it up, the idea of atonement, and the nature of the Day of Atonement, is really a day to admit and say that;

1:) I acknowledge I mess up.

2:) I have/will apologize to those I’ve harmed or hurt, whether by speaking to them, writing them, or by whatever the best means are.

3:) (This is huge) Yah is perfect and forgiving.

4:) I will strive, through Yahuwah’s power, to change and be more like Him this coming year.

5:) I will Praise Yah in hard times and good, and will do so even in the presence of unbelievers.

Whoever you are, wherever you are- Become better friends with your family, friends, neighbors, pets, and most importantly- Yahuwah.

This may seem awfully simple.

But maybe that’s because it is.

Beautiful as it is, Atonement is not even the end! We have a fantastic and loving Father. Once we are right with HIm, we celebrate! For Feast-keepers, this means a week-long HalleluYah party! See Leviticus 23:33-44 and Deuteronomy 16:13-17. Also see my post Tabernacles! Dancing! HalleluYah! and my re-blog Make A Booth, Y’all!. To see where I attend Tabernacles, see 2centsoapbox -Gatherings!

To read about the specific sacrifices of these day, feel free to look at the context of the verses I have supplied or look up any of this in an online Bible. (I.E. atonement or tabernacles, etc.)

Shalom, y’all. Talk to you later. 🙂

Have a good week.

Does Yahuah Dance? Oh yes!! :D

Note: I did not write this, although I altered it slightly. A good message! L’ Chaim!

A Bible verse recently caught my attention:

“[Yahuah] your [Yah] is in your midst, a victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy. He will be quiet in his love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.” (Zephaniah 3:17 NASV)

The Hebrew word, ‘rejoice,’ means to “spin around under violent emotion.” The phrase “rejoice over you” literally means to “dance, skip, leap, and spin in joy.”

So, the latter part of this verse is more accurately translated, “He will dance over you with singing.”

I love the visualization that comes to my mind when I read this. Yahuah is portrayed as a mighty warrior, singing and dancing over me with shouts of joy.

It describes how a warrior must have felt in the Old Testament after winning a hard-fought battle and realizing the victory was his.

I can envision power, authority and strength exuding from him as he steps into a victory dance. I imagine whooping, hollering, leaping, dancing and victory shouts.

ldance

We see it today, as well. It’s not much different from a team hitting a winning field goal on the final play in the Super Bowl or striking the winning goal in the World Cup. There are tears, shouting, rejoicing, dancing and singing. It’s not hard to picture because we see it all the time.

For generations, singing and dancing have been the ultimate expressions of joy.

Yet, many people perceive Yahuah as stern, gloomy and servile, but Zephaniah does not describe Him this way.

The prophet portrays Yahuah as glad and happy as He delights in His creation — His sons and daughters — you and me! Therefore, we should not be ashamed or embarrassed to dance with joy, since Yahuah is in our midst rejoicing over us.

It is a holy union as Yahuah delights in us and we in turn rejoice in His love!

“For as a young man marries a virgin. So your sons will marry you. And as the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so your [Yahuah] will rejoice over you.” (Isaiah 62:5 NASV)

I love to dance in worship to [Yahuah] during worship services. I sense His presence and that He is very close to me.

Sometimes, I feel like Yahuah is dancing with me even as I revel in His presence. I rejoice in Yahuah as He rejoices in me.

This is not the perception of Yahuah that many of us have. We need to begin visualizing Yahuah’s love for us in light of this passage.

Who is America? pt. 1

Wow, I like series I guess! But I reckon it’s because things are so complex!

Well, I’m afraid it is pretty complicated.

The media -specifically television- seems to wish us to think many americans [Especially democrats, lol!] are evil people; Instead of the amazing men and women many of us are. That is, they point out the evil, ignoring the good.

To warn you, I’m gonna first discuss one of America’s problems. Discusion of the good begins @ the blue words. 🙂

Going to a free concert -in a large city, no less- on my way in, I was stopped; my bag searched. Privacy like really infringed!! I mean, it wasn’t even a frisk. But this is a theatre!? I felt very uncomfortable, however; after muttering an in-audible “Why?!”, I quietly said “oh, o.k.”. Which means I “willingly” gave my rights away.

However, after researching it, at this point it seems it was legal- because the searchers were not government-employed. Looking into it a little, the police, etc. need either a “probable cause” or “reasonable, articuable suspicion” to search you. Or a warrant. Also, your permission -implied or stated- gives them that “right”.

But these were security guards- ‘Legally’ the 4th amendment does NOT apply to them. That is, if you come to my house, I can search you, your car, your purse… I see how I have that right to keep myself safe, especially on my property. But, yo, you have the right to refuse! So I am allowed to search other people’s property. (How often is that necessary??)

Yes, they would have the right to say “Oh, I’d rather leave than to be frisked.” Whether it be for privacy issues or because they harbor an actual threat, it’s their right to leave!! As I assume I could have done at the concert- “Sir, please stop searching me. I’d rather leave. It’s my rightful choice. Have a good day now.”

But I put myself in a place where I was meeting folks inside, and so thought I had better go in… Real thinking, planning and purpose are important in a free place.

Once inside, they then played the National Anthem. I was disgusted. I love my fellow americans. However, I do not appreciate being searched. Searching innocent people is NOT patriotic…

I will get back to problems in a later post. Just let me say-

sanity is insanity.

I.E., we live in a virtual reality. I know it sounds crazy. But BTW- Most anything new does sound crazy!

But that is merely the dark side. Those security guards are not the representation of America at it’s best. They may be fine people. However, their job isn’t good American action (In my mind.). Not the heart of the true America- The America that should be. There is bountiful proof of incredible Americans across our beautiful nation.

Riding home with my family from a [FREE:)] horse back ride from a lady a few towns away, we encountered a car crash. Yup, we all see it. Discombobulated cars, totaled trucks. Police running around, an ambulance coming up behind us.

But after a few seconds, we realized it just happened.

We -all four of us- got out. It was a two-car crash. There was a teen walking around, dazed. His younger brother, Aiden*, lay on the road- the older boy, Jonathan (the driver) had pulled him out. My Mom and Jonathan pulled Jonathan’s father, Simon, from the car. He was awake, but very delirious. The Mom, Abby, stayed seated. Jonathan had cut her seat belt off her, my Mom tied a shirt around Abby’s bleeding foot. Abby’s Mother was wedged between the back and front seats. My Grandma being a nurse, told everyone to leave her still. When the EMTs arrived, they removed her. The bleeding began all over again. Turns out every bone in her body was broken.

Over at the other car involved in the crash, a lady- Tonya- was leaning on the side of the car. She was the sole occupant of that car. A few involved, we got her laying down. Looking for her phone for her, I found a few Bibles in her car, and proceeded to read a few verses. We later found out her hip had been broken.

We stayed there working; all over the road. Six were involved in the crash, all harmed. (Sadly, Abby’s Mom since died. Prayers always for their family.) We, along with other “normal folk” aided for two hours- until the last was taken away in an ambulance. It took about an hour for the state troopers to arrive. The fire/rescue men came a little before, maybe 20 to 40 minutes after us. It took, re-iterating it, TWO HOURS for the second ambulance to arrive. Thanks, system. (All the Troopers did, basically, was act smart, ask questions, spray marks on the road, and write stuff down. Thanks I guess. Good stuff for records. No help physically to the folks…)

Yet, amidst all the blood, all the pain, all the grief -humans helped humans. About fourteen ‘normal folks’ (and around the same number of gov. employed personnel & volunteer firemen) aided those in dire need. People took to task. Did what they had to do. I was scared; wasn’t always sure what to do; even hesitant. Coulda done more. But I helped. It was hard; sometimes I was kind of frozen, not sure what to do. But, from the idea of another, I sang- praise Yahuwah. It soothed both the ‘victims’ and their helpers.

Tonya likely caused the crash. We did not care. We wanted her safe, along with everybody!

However,

One woman (maybe) caused it. Nearly 30 folks pitched in.

Does that say anything?! 😀

Americans care. Americans help when it’s hard. We rise above circumstances.

Don’t forget that.

Bye for now,

-Yah’s girl

there is Hope

Yesh Tikvah. One of my favorite phrases. Translation?

There is hope.

You might be down in the dumps. You may think all hope is lost. (Like Job did. Job 6:11) You may feel you are lost. You may be suffering right now. Well, you know what? You ain’t alone!

Yahusha our Saviour suffered. Think of His whole life. His childhood years, His ministry years…the Mount of Olives, particularly. And He said that if the world hated Him, it would hate us, too. John 7:7, 15:18 , 1John3:13

“And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name’s sake. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.” Mark 13:33, Matthew 19:29,24:9,Luke21:12,17
So what’s news?
Grab onto the hope you got. Cling to Yahuah and His Son. That’s written to you and me.
My family is going through some stuff; thank Yah we have each other. (Prayers, plz.) But the soul needs some hope. In Yahuah, we can have it.
Honestly, I’m a Thomas. A doubter. So times like these can be great for me in that they force me to not only pray more, but forget that stuff and rely on Yahuah.
What can you be learning from your problems?
We tend to try and work things out so we can rely on ourselves, me included. Like any  5 year-old. Whether or not they do it for the right reason, they simply can not make supper all by themselves.
We can hire people to do what Yahuah can do(i.e.lawyers working on our behalf)..but only sort of. No one can do as good a job as He.
After a step back, it’s like, “Oh yes, He’s in charge. He owns it all. He knows our troubles. Only He can solve this matter perfectly.” So why not give it to Him now?
We think we have great ideas, great solutions, and that “we can handle it”. Seriously?!
Now, who wants to stop all that and let Yahuah work?
If you don’t feel hopeful, you know how Job felt. If you search “hope” in the online Scriptures, you’ll find Job was not hopeful most of the time; see also Proverbs 14:32. So that’s okay, sometimes we get un-hopeful. (‘Cuz yes, there are many scriptures discussing “no hope”…) We’re human. But if we can cling to our hope, HalleluYah!
If you think there is hope, if that’s where you’re at right now, I recommend you see the below verses.
hope” occurs 130 times in 121 verses in the KJV.
And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.-Job 11:18
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope-Psalms 16:9
Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Yahuah. –Psalms 31:24
The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.-Proverbs 14:32
Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Yahuah, and whose hope Yahuah is.

O Yahuah, the hope of Israel, all that forsake thee shall be ashamed, and they that depart from me shall be written in the earth, because they have forsaken Yahuah, the fountain of living waters.-Jer 17:7,13                                                                             And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.-Romans 8:23-26

“It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Yahuah.” Lam 3:26

Truth

puzzle-1152792__340How do you find and define truth?

Some would say truth is only how or what you define it, or that truth is only truth if it’s truth to you. Seriously? I believe truth is “universal”, that is it doesn’t change for who you are or what you believe.

That is, if you say the earth is flat but it’s really a globe, you were wrong. Likewise, if you say the earth is a globe but it’s really flat, you were wrong. You can say it’s a globe and I can say it’s flat, but we can’t both be 100% right, can we?

Truth stays the truth, even if not one person in all the earth believed it. Just like how Yahuah the Father is King, even if no one were to believe in Him.

Sometimes finding truth is really hard and sometimes it’s really obvious. You may have to search high and low, perhaps literally. Or it may be like right there under your nose obvious. We just have to see it.

Actually, sometimes it’s hard to find, yet once you’ve discovered it you’re like “Why didn’t I see this sooner again?”.Yahuah knows when we’re ready, and He’ll show us, but we have to look too.

One thing to finding true truth is simply that we need to look in the right place. Our Saviour is the truth and the life. John 14:6 says “[Yahusha] saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

I’m sitting down right now. You could debate that fact. You could simply disbelieve it. Or say that, since my feet are also touching the floor, I’m doing some sort of a squat. You agree with me that I’m sitting just because it’s so trivial. (Who really cares whether or not I’m sitting, standing on my feet, or standing on my head as I type right now?!)

But if I say that vaccines are dangerous (and I do believe that), even if it were just as easy to see (which I admit it’s not!!) as my sitting, you will less likely agree. You have a pre-conceived view. But that’s not all. It’s not a trivial issue. It’s important.

Now, you didn’t take that lightly, did you? (My saying vaccines are dangerous). That’s good.

You see, it can be a good thing for people to disagree, because that means it’s an important issue- and they care about it. Congratulations!

chinese-675119__340But yet, I do find it amazing that so many folks -good, smart folks; my friends- can end up with such different beliefs. It’s a mystery to me. Even though this includes me! That is, I was a nice person, and I was a part of the Seventh-Day Adventist church. I think I’m still a nice person, but now I have left the SDAs far behind, and embrace simply the Bible.  (Bye-bye Denominations!)

I wasn’t bad because I was SDA, and I’m not bad because I left. There may be more nice SDAs or more nice Non-SDAs. But either way, being one or the other does not determine you are nice or not.

Yet the ‘me’ before & after leaving  is different. With a huge difference in beliefs. It’s odd how that works.

What I mean is that it’s incredible that so many fantastic people can have such a huge range of beliefs. But it’s how it works. We’ve all seen it. The Baptist dude, the Catholic gal, the Independent Bible-believer, the Atheist and the Muslim. So very different. But not “bad” just because of their religion, culture or background. Or color or race for that matter.

Summing up my tangents, Truth is Yah’s truth. He shows us, we look. You and I are not inherently bad if we haven’t found the truth. But we must look. The truth is the truth even if nobody believes it.
