Not an Angel

I am not an angel. Yes, I have good in me, like everybody – but only because of Him.

Please don’t look at me and judge me as a crazy person, with wrong ideas.

But also, please don’t judge me as a perfect or smart person.

I have good. I have bad. I’m human, like you.

I mess up. A lot.

I have problems with love, compassion, patience, perseverance – and so on.

I don’t need to tell you all of my problems. But I also don’t want anyone to look at my blog and think I’m perfect – far from it. Maybe I have good ideas, but they then originate from God.

I am better than no one, although my pride tells me otherwise.

A lot of stuff I post is because I need to work on it, too. So don’t think, “Oh look at her judging…(This is very short) post. She must be good at not judging.” But instead, “Oh, look. She has to work on that too.”

Why did I write this? Because I have a lot to work on concerning my last post, Your Personal Purpose (as well as others!), plus I want to work on not being hypocritical.

And to be honest, I think you’ll like me for posting this. Sinful nature there…

Anyways, done with that rant.

Shabbat Shalom to you & yours!

Simple thoughts about our spiritual life

Our walk in life with Yahuwah (God) can get really complicated. We can get engrossed in all our technical problems; what to believe, who to hang out with, which habit to crush next. And I guess we should. Changing into His image is big.

But we ought not to forget the simpleness of it all either. We are, left to ourselves, lost humans in a deteriorating world. BUT we are also children of a loving Father who will save us if we will only be willing.

There are many parts to our salvation. But although the nuts and bolts are important, and although it is great to explore them, we should step back once and again to just think; “My Saviour Yahusha died for me because of His love. On my own I’m lost, but He and Yahuwah are willing and able to save even I. As a lost child I can run to His side, and as a loving parent He’ll rescue me.”

HalleluYah; It’s all about love. His love, our love. (We keep His commands to show our love back). And thankfully, Yahuwah’s love is big enough to save us all. If we accept.

Shalom,

Yah’s girl

P.S. Who is looking forward to Purim? Me! 🙂

Yah is into miracles

hope

I’m subscribed to an email list that sends out a different thought/writing every Shabbat/Sabbath & wanted to share this one with y’all. The Author’s website is http://www.keepit7.wordpress.com

Yahuwah gives miracles. He performs them for our joy and benefit! And he does this every day. Sometimes in our great rush and fury, we miss it. We overlook a “small” miracle. This is tragic. Often when we need Yah most, we shove Him aside- “Not now, God, can’t talk. I have problems. I don’t have time!” (What?!?!?!?!?)

I know I do it.

He is here to solve our problems, or bring us through them, but He has given us freedom of choice, which means we have to accept His help. Elohim watches over His own. All we have to do is trust Him!

Remember, Shalom is not the superficial peace the world promotes, but a deep inner peace and harmony “in the battle”.

“He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many against me.”
Psalm 55:18
My point is this: Yah will work in our lives, whatever is going on in them, good or bad. He has done many miracles in my own life, Including a huge one this week. Actually every day is a miracle, since he gives us life; we could not breathe without Him.

So praise Him! Praise the name of Yah! He will glory, He will conquer the evil one! His Truth will never be undefended, and His people will never be alone.

HalleluYah!

Shalom!

Yah loves you & so do I!

Atonement for everyone

Atonement for everyone

All have sinned and come short of the glory of Yahuwah. But all can be atoned for, because He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

By grace we are saved. Not through our own power, but His. We are not saved throgh works, lest any man would boast. Yet, faith without works is dead. By their fruits you will know them. We can be a new creature, and can be set free in His truth.

We ought to come before Yah every day, to search for what seperates us. We should also strive daily to be on good terms with our fellow men, as our Saviour did. Luke 2:52  And [Yahusha] increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with [Yah] and man.

Some Bible believers also keep the day of atonement. Even if you don’t believe in keeping the Feasts, we can all learn from them!

Tomorrow, I’m going to observe this Day of Atonement. Unlike a normal day, it is from sundown to sundown, spanning two calendar dates, the 9th and 10th of the Scriptural 7th month.

Before I move on to what we can all learn from this day, let me give you two links to posts I wrote awhile back that give some of my reasons for keeping the Feasts. There is much more information – pro and con – out there. Is it o.k. to feast with the Father? (Updated) & On the Fringe of the Law

Let’s dive in!

Yom ha’ Kippurim – The day of Atoenment

1:) Notes on the day: (What it’s about, what I do)

Although it’s classified as a Feast, it’s generally accepted that, due to the somber importance of the day, you don’t eat or drink anything during the whole 24 +/- hour period. (Why? See Leviticus 16:29, 23:27+32, and Numbers 29:7) Your hunger and thirst reminds you of the day’s mission.

Because of the day’s job and dire possibilities (Leviticus 23:29,30), the preceding ten days of the month are labeled “The days of awe”. In fact, the first of the month (Right before the beginning of The Days of Awe) is the Feast of Trumpets – a day of blowing, warning everyone Atonement is coming. (On the Feast of Trumpets: Leviticus 23:23-25)

The Day of Atonement is a foreshadow of the final judgement day. All will be atoned for, or face the punishment of their un-repented of and thus un-cleansed sins. Our Saviour Yahusha will come to take His children home. Those who refused His love will die. (Free will) 1 Peter 4:5, Revelation 6:10 + 19:11

In more modern terms, it’s a little like the night before january first – when many people make “New Year Resolutions”. You think back over the last year and make goals of being a better person. (Note we have Yah’s help so we CAN change in the coming year).

Some of my goals are “Be a better listener”, “Help out so-and-so more”, “Pray more”, and even “Spend more time with my dog”.

On this day, I contemplate my relationships. With Yahuwah, and other people, and think of what problems and inconsistencies I have. It is a day for prayer. Contemplation. And maybe writing some letters or ringing a friend (or non-friend) to apologize.

lamb

2:) Notes on the idea of the day:

Summing it up, the idea of atonement, and the nature of the Day of Atonement, is really a day to admit and say that;

1:) I acknowledge I mess up.

2:) I have/will apologize to those I’ve harmed or hurt, whether by speaking to them, writing them, or by whatever the best means are.

3:) (This is huge) Yah is perfect and forgiving.

4:) I will strive, through Yahuwah’s power, to change and be more like Him this coming year.

5:) I will Praise Yah in hard times and good, and will do so even in the presence of unbelievers.

Whoever you are, wherever you are- Become better friends with your family, friends, neighbors, pets, and most importantly- Yahuwah.

This may seem awfully simple.

But maybe that’s because it is.

Beautiful as it is, Atonement is not even the end! We have a fantastic and loving Father. Once we are right with HIm, we celebrate! For Feast-keepers, this means a week-long HalleluYah party! See Leviticus 23:33-44 and Deuteronomy 16:13-17. Also see my post Tabernacles! Dancing! HalleluYah! and my re-blog Make A Booth, Y’all!. To see where I attend Tabernacles, see 2centsoapbox -Gatherings!

To read about the specific sacrifices of these day, feel free to look at the context of the verses I have supplied or look up any of this in an online Bible. (I.E. atonement or tabernacles, etc.)

Shalom, y’all. Talk to you later. 🙂

Have a good week.

-Yah’s girl

Make A Booth, Y’all!

Why? ‘Cause that’s what Dad (Yah) told us to do.

It’s Tabernacles Season! Time to celebrate the harvest, fellowship with family and friends, Commemorate the time spent with the Almighty Creator in the wilderness in temporary dwellings when the children of Abraham were leaving slavery, and to look forward to the time when during the millennium, all the redeemed will again be with him, in temporary places, celebrating the antitypical harvest!
I know people keeping the Feast of Tabernacles, or Sukkot, this winter on five
different date spans. And most people will not keep it at all. So you know I have
something to say later about the reasons to observe the appointed times, and the
principles of calendation on which to determine the Scriptural timing. But for this post I will speak to the purpose of Tabernacles.
The Feast of Tabernacles, Sukkot, or simply, Booths. Why was this time given, and how does it benefit us?
The American holiday called Thanksgiving is a dim counterfeit of the festival
celebration inaugurated for the people of Yahuwah by himself for their benefit. We no longer perform animal sacrifices, which were a notable part of the daily activities from Sinai till the Temple was destroyed in AD 70. But the other symbols and activities are still doable and beneficial. It is a great time to get together and spend time as a family. A great time to make new friends with other families. A great time to worship together with old friends and review the Scriptures together.

Dancing was a regular part of the yearly event in old times, and I am sure we will be doing a lot of that in the earth made new. Scriptural dancing is radically different than the modern sensual dancing of the world. Scriptural dancing is a form of worship which occupies the body in movements calculated to integrate the self into the pattern of others as a group and not detract from thoughts of the above or allow one to focus on a single dancer. It is designed to make you a part of something bigger and higher than yourself.
Building a booth to shelter the family was a key event in a family of pilgrims to old Jerusalem. And even if you have no place to gather with others, and no place to travel to, you can arrange something in your back yard or even in your living room that will create a break with routine, involve the family in creative colaboration, and furnish occasions to learn new skills and discuss important teachings.
Helping others is a theme of the feast of Tabernacles as well. The tithe was designated in part for the purpose of celebrating and ensuring that other observers were able to enjoy the festivities and afford more than the essentials during that time. Again, the size of your gathering need not limit your imagination in how to relieve suffering and lack in other worthy people and causes during your Sukkot time, even among those who do not understand the motives you celebrate by helping them.
Reading the law together is a matter of opinion, interpretation, and private
application among the groups I am familiar with, but most agree that Scriptue enjoins the reading of the books of Moshe during the Tabernacles time at least every few years by some scheme. Discussion is also encouraged if not commanded.
Beyond these, your imagination and conscience are the limit. Anything the family can do together to strengthen relationships with each other and the Creator, relatives, and friends should be prioritized. This may include study of astronomy if you can camp outdoors at night. It may include lots of hiking in nature, or watersports, field trips, or whatever activities are appropriate for the group’s interests and skills.
Make every effort to leave school, work, and routine behind for the duration. Make the most of looking forward, looking back, and appreciating the countless gifts of the year.

Shalom!!

Who is America? pt. 1

Wow, I like series I guess! But I reckon it’s because things are so complex!

Well, I’m afraid it is pretty complicated.

The media -specifically television- seems to wish us to think many americans [Especially democrats, lol!] are evil people; Instead of the amazing men and women many of us are. That is, they point out the evil, ignoring the good.

To warn you, I’m gonna first discuss one of America’s problems. Discusion of the good begins @ the blue words. 🙂

Going to a free concert -in a large city, no less- on my way in, I was stopped; my bag searched. Privacy like really infringed!! I mean, it wasn’t even a frisk. But this is a theatre!? I felt very uncomfortable, however; after muttering an in-audible “Why?!”, I quietly said “oh, o.k.”. Which means I “willingly” gave my rights away.

However, after researching it, at this point it seems it was legal- because the searchers were not government-employed. Looking into it a little, the police, etc. need either a “probable cause” or “reasonable, articuable suspicion” to search you. Or a warrant. Also, your permission -implied or stated- gives them that “right”.

But these were security guards- ‘Legally’ the 4th amendment does NOT apply to them. That is, if you come to my house, I can search you, your car, your purse… I see how I have that right to keep myself safe, especially on my property. But, yo, you have the right to refuse! So I am allowed to search other people’s property. (How often is that necessary??)

Yes, they would have the right to say “Oh, I’d rather leave than to be frisked.” Whether it be for privacy issues or because they harbor an actual threat, it’s their right to leave!! As I assume I could have done at the concert- “Sir, please stop searching me. I’d rather leave. It’s my rightful choice. Have a good day now.”

But I put myself in a place where I was meeting folks inside, and so thought I had better go in… Real thinking, planning and purpose are important in a free place.

Once inside, they then played the National Anthem. I was disgusted. I love my fellow americans. However, I do not appreciate being searched. Searching innocent people is NOT patriotic…

I will get back to problems in a later post. Just let me say-

sanity is insanity.

I.E., we live in a virtual reality. I know it sounds crazy. But BTW- Most anything new does sound crazy!

But that is merely the dark side. Those security guards are not the representation of America at it’s best. They may be fine people. However, their job isn’t good American action (In my mind.). Not the heart of the true America- The America that should be. There is bountiful proof of incredible Americans across our beautiful nation.

Riding home with my family from a [FREE:)] horse back ride from a lady a few towns away, we encountered a car crash. Yup, we all see it. Discombobulated cars, totaled trucks. Police running around, an ambulance coming up behind us.

But after a few seconds, we realized it just happened.

We -all four of us- got out. It was a two-car crash. There was a teen walking around, dazed. His younger brother, Aiden*, lay on the road- the older boy, Jonathan (the driver) had pulled him out. My Mom and Jonathan pulled Jonathan’s father, Simon, from the car. He was awake, but very delirious. The Mom, Abby, stayed seated. Jonathan had cut her seat belt off her, my Mom tied a shirt around Abby’s bleeding foot. Abby’s Mother was wedged between the back and front seats. My Grandma being a nurse, told everyone to leave her still. When the EMTs arrived, they removed her. The bleeding began all over again. Turns out every bone in her body was broken.

Over at the other car involved in the crash, a lady- Tonya- was leaning on the side of the car. She was the sole occupant of that car. A few involved, we got her laying down. Looking for her phone for her, I found a few Bibles in her car, and proceeded to read a few verses. We later found out her hip had been broken.

We stayed there working; all over the road. Six were involved in the crash, all harmed. (Sadly, Abby’s Mom since died. Prayers always for their family.) We, along with other “normal folk” aided for two hours- until the last was taken away in an ambulance. It took about an hour for the state troopers to arrive. The fire/rescue men came a little before, maybe 20 to 40 minutes after us. It took, re-iterating it, TWO HOURS for the second ambulance to arrive. Thanks, system. (All the Troopers did, basically, was act smart, ask questions, spray marks on the road, and write stuff down. Thanks I guess. Good stuff for records. No help physically to the folks…)

Yet, amidst all the blood, all the pain, all the grief -humans helped humans. About fourteen ‘normal folks’ (and around the same number of gov. employed personnel & volunteer firemen) aided those in dire need. People took to task. Did what they had to do. I was scared; wasn’t always sure what to do; even hesitant. Coulda done more. But I helped. It was hard; sometimes I was kind of frozen, not sure what to do. But, from the idea of another, I sang- praise Yahuwah. It soothed both the ‘victims’ and their helpers.

Tonya likely caused the crash. We did not care. We wanted her safe, along with everybody!

However,

One woman (maybe) caused it. Nearly 30 folks pitched in.

Does that say anything?! 😀

Americans care. Americans help when it’s hard. We rise above circumstances.

Don’t forget that.

Bye for now,

-Yah’s girl

*Names have been changed for privacy.

By Yah’s grace, awoke by a thunderbolt

I remember when I was younger,  I broke my leg. I was sitting in a wheel chair, with my family ’round. My Dad brought a nice man over to talk with me. A religious man, as my family were and are. The man asked me a question; “Do you believe [Yhwh] can heal you?” I believe he was kneeling before me. It was one of those times a lot goes through your head real fast.

After a few seconds, I said; “Yes.” The man replied; “Good. Then He will.”

I said what I knew he and everyone around wanted to hear. But I really wasn’t so sure. Indeed, my thoughts before answering included doubting thoughts. I was eleven.

I was healed. My leg is quite well.

But that didn’t mean I never doubted again. I have thought of myself as a Thomas.

About 14 days ago, I was in my room, sitting on my bed. I was not ready to sleep, but instead was writing in my diary my thoughts. My thoughts about my spiritual life, and my doubts.

I began crying, and cried out to Yahuah. I was disheartened. I was thinking about doubts I’ve had for months, wishing I could just forget them, but knowing I must settle them. It was one of those rock-bottom moments.

Yup, desperate even, I cried out to Yhwh, upset-like.

It was a rainy night..

Indecisive for awhile, I finally decided on something. I kinda made a deal with Yah.

Before, I’ve asked Him to wake me up- particularly for study. So, I said to Him…

“Tomorrow, Yahuah, wake me up. 5:30. I’ll study the Bible for an hour and go back to bed for half an hour.” Usually I wake up 7:00 or 8:00. And an hour of study is a bit more than usual as well.

I went asleep at some point.

Hours later, I awoke to a crash. Thunder. I was mad at Yahuah. “Why did you wake me up? We don’t need more rain!”

Then it dawned on me. I went to check the clock. It was 5:27.

Wow!

HalleluYah!

In awe, I felt pretty peaceful. In wondermont, I watched the lightning out my windows. Wrote some good news in my diary. And sat down on my stool to read the Word.

Where to start, I wondered? Ding! I read Genesis 1 through 5.

Yahuah still moves.

Shalom!

Awesome Pizza Recipe!

If you like Pizza and want to make it @ home (with less crud!), and are pinched for time… Make this! It’s my go-to recipe.

https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/20171/quick-and-easy-pizza-crust/

For a twist, add herbs to your dough. (A bit if you want to taste it!) Minced garlic would be cool too.

I use coconut oil for the olive oil; whatever you have at hand/ is your preference will work.

If you have big eaters in your fam, you want to double or triple it… One batch (With their measures) makes one good-sized Pizza.

If you eat Kosher like me, BTW, Papa John’s has Kosher Pizza- Congrats & Thanks, PJ!

Talk to y’all later!

Shalom!

-Yah’s girl

Oh! You can use this crust for other things as well.. I’ve shaped it into Cinnamon rolls. My ‘filler’ is sugar, salt, oil & cinnamon. Lots of sugar. A good amount of cinnamon. Should be a thick paste. (Is cool to mix the cinnamon paste into the dough as well as a filler! Tastier.)
