Simple thoughts about our spiritual life

Our walk in life with Yahuwah (God) can get really complicated. We can get engrossed in all our technical problems; what to believe, who to hang out with, which habit to crush next. And I guess we should. Changing into His image is big.

But we ought not to forget the simpleness of it all either. We are, left to ourselves, lost humans in a deteriorating world. BUT we are also children of a loving Father who will save us if we will only be willing.

There are many parts to our salvation. But although the nuts and bolts are important, and although it is great to explore them, we should step back once and again to just think; “My Saviour Yahusha died for me because of His love. On my own I’m lost, but He and Yahuwah are willing and able to save even I. As a lost child I can run to His side, and as a loving parent He’ll rescue me.”

HalleluYah; It’s all about love. His love, our love. (We keep His commands to show our love back). And thankfully, Yahuwah’s love is big enough to save us all. If we accept.

Shalom,

Yah’s girl

to keep, or not to keep – christmas?

I posted this last year, but wanted to edit it. Here’s the re-newed post.

Why do you keep christmas? How do you keep it? Where did your traditions come from?

I personally have not kept x-mas for a few years now. I know that’s odd, so don’t worry- I’m gonna explain. But how did this come about, me not keeping it? We never were quite “normal” – My family had always made each other gifts, besides the store-bought presents. And we always read Luke chapter 2 before we ripped into the gifts. Then things slowly began to change.

First we said we’d try an ALL-homemade xmas. Then we decided we’d just celebrate it a month or so later, because we could buy the on-sale items – and celebrate cheaper.

After a while, we said, “Forget it! This is silly!!”. He didn’t even get born this day, did he? Yes, I can hear you now.¬†Whoa!! Slow down!¬† What are you talking about? The children love¬†¬†x-mas! We couldn’t take that away from them! And- and what about the true meaning? The greatest gift ever?!

If you had told me what I’m saying right now a few years ago, I may have thought you were crazy. I’m just sayin’, I know a little where you are coming from.

Whoa!! Slow down!¬† What are you talking about?” O.k. I’ll slow down, at least as long as that includes answering your other questions. Thanks for asking. And if you have more, just air them out in the comments!

“The children love x-mas! We couldn’t take that away from them!” Yup, x-mas is¬†FUN!! But let me clarify…what do you mean? Quit lying to them about santa claus? Quit letting them be selfish? I’m all for it.

Plus, perhaps we could exchange christmas with a Biblical celebration like the Israelites kept? Like Passover, or Tabernacles. (For starters, seeExodus 12,  Leviticus 23 and  Zechariah 14:16)

What about the true meaning?”¬† Great question! The birth of the Messiah is truly very important. It must be remembered! Very important. But, as much as we strive to go back to the “roots” of christmas, we have a very hard time – always coming back to the lights, presents, and so on. Family is important, but so is the shopping. Hmmm. This makes one wonder, whether the Saviour’s birth is really where this holiday came from. Do we actually put up a tree to remember his birth? Are all the elves in the front yard the true symbol of the wise-men? Do we ask for presents because of that one, ultimate gift? I’ll be giving y’all some links on this subject!

I want to give y’all some more Bible verses, and then I will give you a few links as to the origins of this holiday.

First of all, and mainly, I should quote from Jeremiah 10, verses 1-12, where it appears erecting trees in our houses connotates a very bad thing to Yahuwah. (Unfamiliar with that name? Yahuwah is “God”. Click the links below for more info!) The most important is the bold part, if your in a time crunch.

Unchecked Copy Box¬†Jer 10:1¬†“Hear ye the word which [Yhwh] speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
Thus saith [Yhwh], Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people¬†are¬†vain: for¬†one¬†cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They¬†are¬†upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also¬†is it¬†in them to do good. Forasmuch as¬†there is¬†none like unto thee, O [Yhwh]; thou¬†art¬†great, and thy name¬†is¬†great in might. Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise¬†men¬†of the nations, and in all their kingdoms,¬†there is¬†none like unto thee. But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock¬†is¬†a doctrine of vanities. Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple¬†is¬†their clothing: they¬†are¬†all the work of cunning¬†men. But¬†[Yhwh]is¬†the true [Elohiym], he¬†is¬†the living [Elohiym], and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation. Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth,¬†even¬†they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens. He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.”
2 Kings 16:2-4¬†“Twenty years old was Ahaz when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and did not that which was right in the sight of the [Yahuwah] his [Elohiym], like David his father.¬†But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yea, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the heathen, whom [Yahuwah] cast out from before the children of Israel.¬†And he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.”¬†

Could the most heart-warming holiday also be the cruelest?¬†“The History of Christmas”
Wow, I’m only about 14(out of 29) minutes in, but this is really good stuff!¬†Shocking but true- “Is christmas christian?”

An open confession;

“I have kept this holiday, I confess. I am sorry I did not understand you earlier, all of you who I’ve heard say you don’t keep christmas. I did not pause to consider. I want to have an open mind, unlike I did then.

“Yahuah, I have mocked you. This holiday still sounds fun, but I will not observe it; I will keep your pure Holy days, rather than the world’s holidays. Help me to learn from your Feasts. Also, please Help me, Yhwh to learn & grow & be truly sorry for this, one among many things I have done wrong!! Through your grace. HalleluYah!!”

There is a lot more info out there. That was my 2 cents.

Why women are not pastors; pt. I

Why Women Are Not Pastors Needless to say, many women today have taken pastoral positions in churches everywhere. It’s common to hear about a church with a woman pastor. But is this biblical? Is this something that God ordains and blesses? What does God’s Word have to say about women who want to be pastors? […]

Parades, videos, actions, & parties. What does it come to? (For mature readers) On the LGBTQ subject

gay
adjective
  1. (of a person, especially a man) homosexual.
    “that friend of yours, is he gay?”
    synonyms: homosexual, lesbian;

    informal queer
    “gay men and women”
  2. lighthearted and carefree.
    “Nan had a gay disposition and a very pretty face”
noun
  1. a homosexual, especially a man.

Now that’s right off the internet. Type in “gay definition”, you’ll get it. (I like the “lighthearted and carefree” idea!!! I believe that is the older definition.)

I’m a patriotic American. And I think the best way to be Patriotic is to defend your country. But not necessarily with Tanks, Planes and Guns. Paying attention to our leaders; encouraging the good ones, and impeaching (this may not be necessary. We must pay attention, however) those who are not out to serve us. Being involved in our communities; getting to know our neighbors. Spreading knowledge. For example, On june 17th, there was a gay pride parade in Columbus, Ohio, USA. (Interesting notes about pride: Psalms 10:4 “The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after Elohiym: Elohiym is not in all his thoughts.” Proverbs 11:2 “When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.” Perhaps not all pride is bad, nevertheless, please ponder that).

If you click here you can get a list of sponsors. (Look up “businesses who support gays” to find others who, although not involved in this parade, are in love with the LGBT agenda) These stores/organizations/banks etc. think they will have better business now. I want to prove ’em wrong. There is power in #s, friends! It will be hard. I like some of these stores!. But I want to BOYCOTT them until they change their minds about a thing or two!

Why do I say this? To me, being¬†free¬†or having liberty is doing anything you want as long as it does not hurt another individual. (Note: The Israelite camp wasn’t quite like this. You lived there because you wanted to obey YHUH’s laws. You got stoned, etc. for disobedience, look it up. Sadly, we do not have a place like that to live in. So since I am an American, that is my definition of free. Israel’s ¬†freedom was different. For example, in how it was disobedient to not attend the feasts. You may not be hurting anyone by not attending (besides yourself), but it was against YHUH’s rules!!) Again, to me, being free is doing anything you want as long as it does not hurt another individual. Not only do I not see gays/lesbians in the Holy Bible of YHUH, but it’s not freedom for a teenage girl to be videoed in the bathrooms of some store by some male who THINKS he is a girl! Come on, y’all!

So, if you are gay or lesbian yourself, two things. First, YHUH loves you. We love you. We just don’t agree/accept your actions/views. Please know that! Second, if you believe in YHUH and His son, Yahusha (Commonly called jesus, although I consider them a little different.) and the Bible, I would love for you to look over the following verses from both the Old AND New Testaments.

Genesis 2:21-22 “And [Yahuah Elohiym] caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which [Yahuah Elohiym] had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.”

Genesis 3:20-21 “And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.¬†Unto Adam also and to his wife did [Yahuah Elohiym] make coats of skins, and clothed them.”

Genesis 20:3 “But [Elohiym] came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man [spec. definition 1a], for the woman [spec. definition 1a] which thou hast taken; for she is a man’s wife.”

Exodus 22:16-17 “And if a man entice a maid that is not betrothed, and lie with her, he shall surely endow her to be his wife.¬†If her father utterly refuse to give her unto him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.”

Here are a few points on marriage! Leviticus 20:7-22 “Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am [Yahuah] your [Elohiym]. ¬†And ye shall keep my statutes, and do them: I am [Yahuah] which sanctify you. ¬†For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death: he hath cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him. And the man that committeth adultery with another man’s wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour’s wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. And the man that lieth with his father’s wife hath uncovered his father’s nakedness: both of them shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. And if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death: they have wrought confusion; their blood shall be upon them. ¬†If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.¬†And if a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they; that there be no wickedness among you. ¬†And if a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast. ¬†And if a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto, thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. ¬†And if a man shall take his sister, his father’s daughter, or his mother’s daughter, and see her nakedness, and she see his nakedness; it is a wicked thing; and they shall be cut off in the sight of their people: he hath uncovered his sister’s nakedness; he shall bear his iniquity. ¬†And if a man shall lie with a woman having her sickness, and shall uncover her nakedness; he hath discovered her fountain, and she hath uncovered the fountain of her blood: and both of them shall be cut off from among their people. ¬†And thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister, nor of thy father’s sister: for he uncovereth his near kin: they shall bear their iniquity. ¬†And if a man shall lie with his uncle’s wife, he hath uncovered his uncle’s nakedness: they shall bear their sin; they shall die childless. And if a man shall take his brother’s wife, it is an unclean thing: he hath uncovered his brother’s nakedness; they shall be childless. Ye shall therefore keep all my statutes, and all my judgments, and do them: that the land, whither I bring you to dwell therein, spue you not out.”

Romans 7:3 “So then if, while her husband liveth, she be married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband be dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.” (Side note: Here, even in the NT, you are not free from the law.)

Mark 10:11&12 “And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.”

Matthew 5:28&32 “But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.”

Luke 16:18 “Whosoever putteth away his wife, and marrieth another, committeth adultery: and whosoever marrieth her that is put away from her husband committeth adultery.”

Romans 2:22 “Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege?”

Also, if a man marries a man, or a woman a woman, how can they have children, seeing these verses show you cannot have a relationship besides your marriage? (Also see Genesis 1:27&28 plus 1 Corinthians 7:8&9)

So, think that over. (The verses & the boycott idea.) And, if you like, let me know in the comments what YOUR definition of being free is!

Happy late Independence day, yall! But hey, we should be thankful EVERYDAY for our Independence! What’d you say?

Is it o.k. to feast with the Father? (Updated)

(The feasts are spoken of/commanded in Exodus 12, Leviticus 23, e.t.c. Also, Cain and Abel sacrificed. That law, in my mind, was related to the feasts. Note also that that was before Moses’ life.)

Seeing our Saviour is our example, why did He keep the Feasts while He was alive on earth? Why did the Holy Spirit come on a feast day Рon Pentecost? Hey, if the feasts are denying our Saviour, why did Paul keep them in Acts 18:21? I mean, I know there can be interpretations on verses pro AND con for the feasts precisely, but I just want you to take this into the equation.

Also, why did Daniel not mention the feasts being “done away”? (Daniel 9:27; “And [H]e shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week [H]e shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”) To me this shows that the sacrifices stopped, but not everything else-like the feasts… Oblation is another word for sacrifice.

Think about that and PLEASE comment below! Tell me if you just want more on this, or anything precise on this.  Thanks!

Update:¬†Below is a timeline I wrote out during a family Bible study just the other week. It is made off of my understanding that a day begins at dawn. Later we’ll have a study on that. Let’s make sure you are clear, though, before you read the following, that I do NOT do sacrifices- Messiah is MY sacrifice. Also, remember Romans 12:1, ¬†“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of [Elohiym], that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto [Elohiym], which is your reasonable service.” ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† {It explains itself…}

passover timeline

When the other feasts approach, I will try to post timelines for them.

Also, please go to http://www.2centsoapbox.wordpress.com and go to “gatherings” That is where I attend the feasts.

Deu_16:16 “Three times in a year shall all thy males appear before the [Elohiym] thy [Master] in the place which he shall choose; in the feast of unleavened bread, and in the feast of weeks, and in the feast of tabernacles: and they shall not appear before the [Master]¬†empty:”
1Ki_9:25 And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built unto the [Master], and he burnt incense upon the altar that was before the [Master]. So he finished the house.”

On the Fringe of the Law

Whether or not you realize it yet, this is a pun.

First, it is in our Father’s law to have a fringe on our garments. It is commanded to be all blue, or at least partly. Here is the command;

“Speak unto the children of Israel, and bid them that they make them fringes in the borders of their garments throughout their generations, and that they put upon the fringe of the borders a ribband of blue:
“And it shall be unto you for a fringe, that ye may look upon it, and remember all the commandments of the [Father], and do them; and that ye seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, after which ye use to go a whoring:
“That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your [Father].”
Numbers 15:38-40

As a witness our Saviour had a fringe on His robe;

“And whithersoever he entered, into villages, or cities, or country, they laid the sick in the streets, and besought him that they might touch if it were but the border of his garment: and as many as touched him were made whole.” Mar_6:56
” And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,”Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.”And [Savior]¬†said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?” Luke 8:43-45

The second part of the pun is that this command is simply on the fringe of the entire law.

There are multiple “books of the law” (or Torah in Hebrew). Leviticus is one of them. Many folks believe the law -all or part of it- was done away with at Messiah’s death. I say you look into it yourself. NO ASSUMPTIONS. ¬†Unless, of course, you want hindrances in your study… ūüėÄ ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬† ¬†…But I know it’s kinda hard to leave ’em behind….

See the next little study: “Is it o.k. to feast with the Father?”

Pretend those fringes are blue…Although a little excessive!indian-fringe
