Devotional — From The Darkness Into The Light

If you’re an athlete, you’re familiar with the phrase “hit the wall.” It simply expresses the moment when an athlete experiences a sudden loss of energy in a long race or in an athletic competition. The book of Hebrews is written to a group of believers who “hit the wall.” They have become stuck where […]

A little about me – with pictures

Who am I? Well, I’m Yah’s girl, of course. But what am I like?

p9040022-e1542060781585.jpg

A Bible- believer, fun-loving lady. Someone who needs to work on patience. Who loves her family and pets. I love writing, if you have not noticed. (I have something like 7 blog posts as drafts right now. Yes, I do procrastinate. ) I get scared of what people think, and pray for Yah’s joy and peace and love. I want to learn more about the anchors of my faith, and am interested in apologetics.

I’m someone who loves people, and hates the violence seen today. I am sad for the inner-city kids. I am someone who needs to pray a lot more, and worry less. I try to “be good”, but I am sooo human. I love singing, art, making bracelets with friends, and drawing. As you might tell from reading my blog, I want to spread joy & truth, and help others.  I’m not a main-stream christian (And don’t call myself a christian), but am more on the Messianic-side.

There’s a peek into my life.

Below are a few fun pictures that show a little more about me.

My darling 3-yr old, Cara.

Love you all!  -Yah’s girl

judging…(This is very short)

I think we must all remember what our Saviour did (Concerning this topic.): Matthew 9:10-13 “And it came to pass, as [Yahusha] sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners? But when [Yahusha] heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick. But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Luke 15:1 “Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.” See also Mark 2:15,16 & Luke 5:30, 7:34

If our Messiah ministered to and fellowshipped with sinners, He being pure, how much the more should we do likewise? For;  “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and [Yhwh] hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.” Isaiah 53:6 We, too, are sinners! Why else would we need to repent? (I am thinking of where John the Baptist said to those on the banks of Jordan to “repent & be baptised”, as well as the fact that the Bible later says we need the Baptism of His spirit, no more “the Baptism of John”.

You do not need to read the following if you are familiar with that idea. (Act 19:1-5 “And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples, He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on [Messiah Yahusha]. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the [Master Yahusha].”)

Thanks.

Shalom,                                                                                                                                                       Yah’s girl

Part 1 of Girls thinking about life series (w’ added content)

Hi! I think this series will be fun. You can even suggest topics. In a way this whole website is a girly Biblical series. But this is special. Girl talk even more. Dear boys…  Of course you can read this, but it may go over your head. We prefer you decline from reading, lol. Thanks. Well, except this one may have a little bearing on your life. But it’s still pretty…uh…girly?…We hereby discuss… A slightly touchy subject…. Modesty.

Modesty can be a complicated topic. I think many of us ladies have struggled with what it means for us, ourselves. For, ultimately, it a decision that falls on what YHWH says, how we think of that, as well as values our family also may have. (Note: If these values are lower than what Yhwh says, perhaps go above them. But if they are higher than you feel necessary, it may not hurt to “obey” them anyways.)

Some girls don’t feel “right” unless they are wearing long sleeves. Some feel it best to avoid spaghetti traps. Some don’t think twice before slipping on a bikini.

The Bible actually talks about what ladies should wear-although not many guidelines. Our Father likes free choice, but only after laws He made to keep us safe are followed. (To me, true liberty.) Below is a pic I drew with some verses about what ladies should wear……………………WIN_20170831_19_55_22_Pro (2)                                                                                   That last one is Revelation 14:4!

So what IS modesty?!? Let’s look at the definition:

Main Entry: mod·est

Pronunciation: primarystressadjective
1 a : having a limited and not overly high opinion of oneself and one’s abilities b : not boastful : somewhat shy <amodest winner>
2 : moderate in amount, size, or extent <a modest request> <a modest cottage>
3 : clean and proper in thought, conduct, and dress :DECENT
mod·est·ly adverb

So it is about humility, simpleness, and such.  Like I said, it is ultimately your decision. But I would like to put some of my thoughts out there.

Why be modest? One reason to me is simply the men in our life. Seriously. There are parts of our bodies we save for our husbands, so why would you show them to others? Marriage is sacred. (Although to the LGBT community it hardly appears so…) You not only want to keep them for “your guy”, but you don’t want to distract other men from who you really are, (plus you want them to stay true to their girl!). To NOT be a distraction. T.V. is bad enough for the guys! Thus, even if you don’t even plan to ever be married, you don’t want to be a stumbling block for any male…. See picture….

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

–Since it is low quality; FYI: It says: “Who keepeth her beauty for her husband? This? [On the left] Or this?” [On the right.] Although it is blurry, I trust you get the message, :D. Those are the same pictures, yes, the quality is just better in different ways for both of them.

How I see modesty: Like I said, it is ultimately up to Yhwh and you. But I want to tell you some of my thoughts and takes on the subject-what it means to me. Usually, what makes me feel comfortable in the ‘modesty realm’ is wearing a dress or skirt (& shirt!!). I also add a hat. I need to study the Bible more on this subject. 1 Corinthians talks about covering your head as a girl, and I am going to look at more verses- later we’ll publish my findings here, in this series. Anyways, back to clothes… My subconscious rule is skirt around the knee, sleeve over shoulder, and “neck line” only about 1-2 inches low. In the future, I may feel comfortable with a long-ish tunic-shirt. But 4 now, I am sticking to skirts, etc.

My family went to a family camp, and before hand we watched videos about it on-line. All the females were in dresses. We thought; “What in the world?! Ridiculous. Why?” Well, we later thought, it is feminine, “Not men’s apparel”, the Bible says. But I don’t think that’s all the reasons, and I don’t want U to wonder why I do what I do. The Bible says not men’s apparel. Does women’s apparel have to be a dress!? Hmm.. Why?

Putting it plainly & bluntly, I think the main reason to wear a skirt instead of pants is, not only is it girly (a very good point) but pants…well… make your crotch area REALLY obvious. Like I said. Blunt. Yes, I know- “Men wear pants! They have a crotch!” I know. And I think guys should wear tunics or something. (Although no cross dressing, please!) So just don’t throw that one at me, lol. I am a girl; I’m sticking to girly topics. 😉 ( Why am I worried about my crotch being obvious? It’s one of those special places.) So no, the Bible does not say “dresses, dresses, dresses!” But where does your attention go? What looks lady-like? I also like to look at history, like Egyptian pictures on old rock walls. Strangely many of the men in Egyptian men wore skirts it seems. I don’t know why, but they were not Hebrews. Perhaps they kept their dress non-transexual. Or maybe they were rebellious to Yhwh. I don’t know.

Ok. I do my nails. I think most girls are good with it. But I’m not sure. It sure is fun! I know the Bible speaks about not putting gold in your hair, but what about Ur nails?!? For now, I just stick with light-toned painted nails. This can be a topic for discussion below. Just remember gals, we each make our own choices. Don’t get mad if someone  does/does not wear ‘polish. Just put your thoughts out; let’s grow! 😀

**New note 11/3/17gregorian cal. Found this on-line today;

“For Attractive lips, speak words of kindness.

For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.

For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.

For beautiful hair, let a child run their fingers through it once a day.

For poise, walk with the knowledge that you never walk alone.

People, more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed. Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you will find one at the end of each of your arms.

As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself and the other for helping others.” [Boldness added by me.]  End of add-in.

O.K. Yah’s girl signing off. Thx. TTYL. Shalom! (Peace in Hebrew.)

These are some good thoughts! I know I already link to this site, but, well, here is a link to one of the older posts; it’s not very long anyways! 😀Thanks.

Incredible Discovery

On March 30, or 20th day of the 12th Biblical month, Google posted this picture as it’s 2017 “Doodle for Google” winner. Why? Why would they choose such an abominable image as the winner? They surely must have had thousands of entries. And why is it titled “a peaceful future”? They don’t look very peaceful to me, waving devil signs behind the gay, the christian, the trans-sexual, the muslim, and the other confused people.

The answers to these questions, I will never fully understand. I only know that the Google executives are hell-bent on destroying Biblical principles and those who uphold them. If I could, I would boycott Google right now, except that I don’t know how I would keep sharing this information with you.

Therein lies the problem. How do we function, and not support the evil forces in the world?

Thoughts from the dog…

I was walking my dog earlier today. Should you know that she ‘pulls’ on her leash?Image result for creative commons puppy pulling leash See left. And below. Image result for creative commons dog pulling leash

I don’t think those are copyrighted. But if they are yours (And you can prove it!), I’ll take them off.

Anyways, I had her stopped, and I commanded her to “Sit!”. She declined. I decided to wait it out. (Which I had already done once or twice that walk!) Imagine me as a really BAD example of Our Father (Parent) in Heaven, my dog maybe a GOOD example of myself- us. We are disobedient, and make life hard not only on ourselves, but on Him. And He has decided to “Wait it out”- like I did. Now, I could have forced her to sit, like I had in times past. (Which our Heavenly Father WON’T  do.)

Instead, I had to wait and essentially waste time because of her. It was her choice. But I had to suffer. I knew she would sit sometime! (Although, sadly, not all of us humans will finally bow at our Father’s just commands.)

I had some grass I was going to give her later. She saw it, and I offered it to her as a reward. She accepted, sitting down. “Hao Mai Mai!” (“Good little sister” in Chinese) I responded.

We have a reward- Heaven. Yet, more than all that pearl, peace, and gold, we have seeing our Father and our Messiah to look forward to! But let’s obey, even if we did not have that to look forward to, eh?!

How fast are you vs. the Bible? Pt. 2

First, a Thank-you to Kailey and SevenThousandOthers for their comments on pt. 1! (If you didn’t read that article (How fast are you vs. the Bible) or their comments, I recommend you do so before proceeding.) Also, I have my comments (For what it’s worth!) on the verses I quoted in Pt. 1 about which ones I think are/are not figurative, along with more context quoted. If you want that ‘paper’, go to the THE… Contact Page and ask me to email it to you. Mention this post. I didn’t include it because I didn’t want this to be too loooong. And not everyone will want to read it, either. 😀

Next, let’s dig in! You want more verses? I agree!

These ones are just referenced in the 1st part, and I want to QUOTE ’em:

Psalms 89:36,37 “His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.  It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.”

Proverbs 8:28-30 “When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep:  When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:  Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him;

Proverbs 30:4-6 “Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell? Every word of [Yahuah Elohiym] is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.  Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.” Here I quote more then I referenced.

Isaiah 40:19-23 “The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.  He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.  Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?  It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity. “ Here I quote more then I referenced.

Now here are some that were NOT in Part 1!

2 Samuel 22:1 And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of [Yahuah], at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

Psalms 24:2 For he hath founded  it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.        (This flood thing will be a whole ‘nother post someday, Father willing!)

founded:                                                                                                                                           H3245  יָסַד yâsad yaw-sad’
A primitive root; to set (literally or figuratively); intensively to found; reflexively to sit down together, that is, settle, consult: – appoint, take counsel, establish, (lay the, lay for a) found (-ation), instruct, lay, ordain, set, X sure.
Total KJV occurrences: 43

established:                                                                                                                                    H3559 כּוּן kûn koon
A primitive root; properly to be erect (that is, stand perpendicular);. hence (causatively) to set up, in a great variety of applications, whether literal (establish, fix, prepare, apply), or figurative (appoint, render sure, proper or prosperous): – certain (-ty), confirm, direct, faithfulness, fashion, fasten, firm, be fitted, be fixed, frame, be meet, ordain, order, perfect, (make) preparation, prepare (self), provide, make provision, (be, make) ready, right, set (aright, fast, forth), be stable, (e-) stablish, stand, tarry, X very deed.
Total KJV occurrences: 217                                                                                                              So, it can be literal or figurative from this verse. You decide. I think that to say this the authors were probably speaking about it as a literal, real thing. You decide. Sabe?

Psalms 78:65-69 “Then [Yahuah] awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.  And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts: he put them to a perpetual reproach.  Moreover he refused the tabernacle of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim: But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which he loved.  And he built his sanctuary like high palaces, like the earth which he hath established [H3245] for ever.” I’d quoted v. 69 in part one, but wished here to quote more of the chapter. 😀

Psalms 104:1-5  ” Bless [Yahuah], O my soul. O [Yahuah] my Elohiym], thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty. Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain: Who layeth the beams of his chambers in the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot: who walketh upon the wings of the wind: Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire: Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.”

Isaiah 45:18 “For thus saith [Yahuah] that created the heavens; [Elohiym] himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established [H3559] it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am [Yahuah]; and there is none else.” The funny thing is, I got these last two verses from a soul who takes these verses to mean that the earth does not move in relation to other things “out there”.  Here is their article.

I think it is funny that many of these quotes are in a seemingly non-related context. I’m not sure what this means.

In closing: Psalms 93 “[Yahuah] reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; [Yahuah] is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is stablished, that it cannot be moved. Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting. The floods have lifted up, O [Yahuah], the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.  [Yahuah] on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea. Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O [Yahuah*], for ever.”

Psalms 19 has some thoughts on these issues as well.

*H3068 יְהֹוָה yehôvâh yeh-ho-vaw’From H1961; (the) self Existent or eternal; Jehovah, Jewish national name of God: – Jehovah, the Lord. Compare H3050, H3069.
Total KJV occurrences: 6521
It feels safer to me to be on a stable earth. (Just like those that build houses like a good foundation!!) It’s like equating thinking you are flying through ‘space’ with the idea of rushing everywhere hectically as opposed to stopping your hectic routine for a breath of air or finding out you, being on the earth, are still on the waters. Yahuah can help us whether we are flying or still, rushing or relaxed. Yet you can guess which circumstance He’d create!
Water moves a lot, you say? I see the point. But even though the Bible says we’re on water, it still affirms, in my mind, that we are firmly grounded. A little like a boat moored, perhaps? lake-bled-2429679_1920.jpg

After all that talkin’ an’ quotin’, I wanted to give y’all a laugh.

Non-dirty dirt..Would you like to garden?

Gardening- I sadly must say I don’t think many people know the importance of it. If you eat meat, the animals had to eat grass, which may have been planted for them- planting is a major part of gardening, even if it isn’t done in rows. Although, I know, a seeded lawn is not necessarily classified as a garden. But beyond that, they probably ate grain- definitely cultivated!

When you eat any vegetable or fruit, that was cultivated. We can’t live without food. We can’t live without gardens. THAT part is rather simple. So why not grow stuff for ourselves to live?

If you believe in the Bible, (which if you don’t, I implore you to look into it.) you know Adam and Eve ate/tended herbs – they LIVED in a garden! Genesis 1:11, 29 & 30. Interesting thoughts about the creation HERE.

You have probably driven by a field of corn-likely gmo, if it was recently (We’ll get to that soon)- and I suppose you have seen gardens with perfect rows, beautiful bare dirt, no weeds, so picturesque…..UH…WHO HAS THAT TIME?!

I introduce you to Eden gardening- there are different aspects of it, but it boils down to growing our food simply, like Adam and Eve. But notice I said GROWING OUR FOOD. I think we should all grow a substantial part of our own food, or all of it. Maybe even sell excess of it! Deuteronomy 15:6 & 28:12.

One point is organics and GMO’s. When a food is organic, it hasn’t been sprayed with anything like the regular pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides, although maybe with  an ORGANIC substance, an easy example being  vinegar as an organic pesticide. I say, “If it kills the plant’s pests, it’ll kill the plant’s other eater-YOU!!” GMO’S- Genetically Modified Organisms- is where you modify a plant’s genes. Simple! Or not… This is where the scientists in the lab will, for example, figure out how to make a tomato last longer at market by putting fish genes into it, Voila! $$$! Make note: Organic produce and plants are Non-GMO, but Non-GMO produce/plants are not necessarily organic!
